Brand spanking new Mossberg 500 Bantam 20 gauge purchased this morning will not feed the last shell from the magazine tube. Put 2 shells in it and the first will do as it should then when you cycle the action the spent shell extracts and the elevator only goes half way down and will not pick up the last shell in the magazine tube. If you put 5 in the tube it will feed 4 perfectly but not the last shell.

Went back to the gun shop and tried the display model and it did the same thing.

I went and swapped it for a Weatherby SA-08 and that works flawlessly so I don't have the Bantam anymore to try things out. I'm just very interested to see if anyone has had this issue. 12 shot out of Bantam nothing but trouble. 100 shells through Weatherby and 100% click bang. :)

same problem mossberg has had to 40yrs, shell catches are to long, it is an issue that mostly gos away after a few hundred rounds, but for most hunters that can be a year or three.
so best to 1, check the spring and follower as they are crap. 2 place one round in and try to see where the latches are catching as you try to eject that last round, then get out the grinder.
