Mossberg 500 barrel

Mossberg brand 18.5" barrels used to be able to be purchased for around $130-$150, I just can't find a supplier at the moment.
Wholesale Sports Website has them on sale for $239 which is just $20 less than a Maverick Model 88 security.

Good luck finding one at any store... go email GrechOutdoors@wightman.ca the Mossberg Canadian warranty shop. Don't expect anything cheap.
May be better off buying a used 500 on the EE or the 500 Combo and you have both. Then you can sell off what you have or what you don't need.

At those prices, it seems like the best option might be to just buy another shotgun. Plus it gives me an excuse to get a second shotgun. I'm thinking about getting an 870.
Look for a Maverick 88. I got one here for $165 complete, had a scratch on it that I covered up with a sharpie. Barrel will fit the 500 or just use it as is.
just buy a barrel here on the EE! I got mine for 100 shipped last summer! (came off a mav 88 i believe)
There is a minor downside to having 2 different shotguns. If you get used to the action and button placement on one, you will be at a slight disadvantage using the other. If that matters to you.
I have 3 different types of shotguns, but my go to one is the mossberg 500 (my first). The placement of the buttons just makes more sense to me.
