Just looking for a good starting point on what choke/steel shot these guns like for waterfowl? I haven't changed what came in it (pretty sure it's the full choke) and that seems to work for skeet... What would you guys recommend for duck and goose? I've yet to run steel shot, nor have I patterned the gun so would like a little input as the season opener is fast approaching

well thy make different chokes for different jobs ,if you are going to be shooting geese in the decoys at close range I like a mod choke ,if you are pass shooting at longer ranges I like the full choke ,most guns come with a mod choke from factory ,,,Dutch

Correct just checked as I was thinking about it, it came with a mod choke installed, as well as an improved cyl and full... Gonna have to run some patterns! We can hear all sorts of quacking right now from home, getting excited for the opener

Off topic, and sorry to the OP.

I also own a 535, just going to try waterfowl for the first time this year..
Do you use the factory chokes or something aftermarket/extended for steel shot? Or are you using Heavy BBs?

nothing wrong with the factory tubes for hunting ,,,some guys go the extra mile for ported tubes or other after market stuff but is it really needed ,,save your money for more ammo ,Dutch

I shoot 3'' BBs for ducks and geese.

When i had a Mossberg 500 with the Accu-choke system I used this configuration. I now use the same with my Benelli Nova.

Pass Shooting: Modified Choke
Over decoys: Improved Cylinder
