I've read here that the mossberg 535's and 535 combos are not so great with the triggers and the barrel to receiver fit is pretty terrible.

I was wondering how the mossberg 500 combos (like the ones from wholesale) are. Do they have the same problems or are they much better?
 
i have a mossberg 500 turkey model that i use as my beater gun. it fits me better then any other gun, easy to clean and it was cheap. i dont mind the plastic trigger and guard, because i dont grab it buy one end and smash it off a rock lol i use it for everything ducks deer skeet geese crow anything really and ive never had a problem with it.

sorry i cant coment on the rifle barrel because i dont have one . but it seems to be a solid gun. what more could u ask for for 350 bucks. just my 2 cents

id get another one;)
 
I have a model 500 field that I use mostly for waterfowl (I don't have the rifled barrel either). I have no complaints with it at all. The fit and finish are fine for the price (better on finish than the Rem express, about equal on fit in my opinion). I haven't seen any of the new 535's so I can't comment on them.

I'm also very interested in others comments concerning the 535... I'm looking for a inexpensive shotgun combo to start out with and the 535 deer/field combo is at a very desirable price point. I guess if I can't find significant info I can always buy the more expensive 500 combo.
 
I just ordered the Field / Deer combo in Mossy oak last thursday so I'll let you know what I think next week! price for what you get seems pretty good, I got mine for $425.00 + tx. I'm still looking for a 20" turkey barrel in mossy oak though, hard to find in canada!
