Hey all, new to shotguns here and have a little bit of a dilemma I guess. Recently I was given a mossberg 500 12 gauge. Both me and my wife are of short stature, and we find it sort of difficult to reach the forend. Now before we get into the debate about lop, let me say that we are both comfortable with the 13.5" lop on the stock, but find it a slight stretch to reach the forend comfortably. We tend to find ourselves naturally grabbing just behind the forend on the mag tube, and I'm wondering if there was a forend that was slightly longer at the back end. Right now it has the police style forend (roundish ribbed) and it appears to be pinned, so I know I will have to get a new action tube etc. I am wondering if there was something similar to the youth model forend, but in synthetic. I have been searching online but cannot seem to find much except for the tactical ones which appear to just have the same problem I am facing. Any help would be great, and because this was given to me, advice on cheaper options are always a bonus as I'd rather save my money for ammo for practicing.
