Not really sure.
I'v got a new Mossberg 500 with synthetic stock. I want to switch it out with Corn Cob wood furniture.

A CGN'r has a set forsale but its 1968 made so pre 1970 with single action bar instead of my 2 action bars.

Questions is can I still use the Forend with no or minimal modification?.

Thanks.

New synthetic forends are pinned into the fore-end assembly I believe. You might also need an older style assembly that is longer to fit the wood forend. It has been discussed before, but check out Havlin sales for a description. I'd go with the dual action bars.

I'm not 100% but I think the Maverick's are pinned but the 500s can be removed. I definitely removed the forend from my new 500 when I had it, but that was probably between 1 and 2 years ago. They may have changed them.

Have a look at yours. If it's removable take it off, and measure the tube. Ask the seller to measure the length of the forend, and send you a picture of the inleting. I suspect if the tube length is the same size a little bit of time with a chisel and some sandpaper would fix you up.
