well fired about 100 rounds through my new mossy, everything seems fine but occasionally loading rounds stick in the mag tube seems it may be gumming up as its the only part I have yet to disassemble

how do I get this thing off it seems like its rock solid on there tried strap wrenches and everything..any help would be appreciated

thanks

My moss 590 just unscrewed. Maybe someone used locktite on it? Try heating the threads with a hairdryer for a couple minutes and then unscrewing it.

Forget the straps, its easier to prop the stock inbetween your thighs/knees and unscrew the mag tube with your hands.

I use a heat gun to warm the mag tube and receiver, it will soften the adhesive. Warm, not hot. The tube goes into a non-marring non-crushing vise jaws. Unscrew in a counter-clockwise direction.

doesnt want to work for me :(...not to mention if I use the stock for leverage it just unscrews it self..I have tried tightening the stock but it still wants to twist I dont have any vices any other tips?

Find something you can wedge the receiver between...like to posts that won't move or something similar...fill the gaps with styrofoam and twist the mag that way.

It really shouldn't be in there that tight. Otherwise, find a friend with a vice, protect the receiver and do it that way.

These things get frustrating sometimes....I tried to remove a flashhider from my ar15 a while back without a receiver block for a vice, i got it done, but you gotta be patient to avoid marring the gun.

The tubes tend to be tight, mostly due to the "loctite". You can get the parts fairly warm, almost too hot to hold, to soften the adhesive.

Get a vise.
