Mossberg 500 Magazine/Follower/Tube

I have a camo'd Mossberg 500 12ga, and it appears that the spring in the magazine is all bunch up - the spring is not pushing the follower all the way down the tube and as a result, my last round gets jammed. I'm looking for a way to get at the spring inside the magazine and there does not appear to be an obvious way to open the magazine - it appears that the end of the magazine is pressure fitted...

Anyone had any experience with this?

The magazine of a Mossberg 500 is threaded into the frame and can be removed with some kind of soft rubber strap wrench after the barrel is removed. Just put the receiver in a padded vise, don't clamp down too tight, then use a rubber strap wrench. I had a magazine that was so tightly fastened I cut and filed a groove at the end of the mag where the threaded hole is, to put a piece of flat steel in to act as a wrench, then managed to remove the mag. After the mag tube is removed the follower and spring can be pulled out.
