I'm buying a 12 gauge shotgun tomorrow as a do it all gun ie bird to deer
I do plan to buy a combo with both barrels incl
was wondering if any users have any input both seem to be quality guns and both are similarly priced any and all
input would be appreciated

Thanks

Cabelas will sell the combo for 350$ and was wondering how good it is. Not sure if you can really hunt a deer, especially if you're a newbie. 100 yards is your max.

The mossberg 500 is a great combo, I have the 3 barrel 28" std, 24" Turkey and the 24" fully rifled cantilever. I have taken 2-3 deer at 120yrds + with Hornady SST's. Killed 10 turkeys an shot lots of ducks and geese. I have no experience with the winchester SPX but I did own a win model 1300 combo. It had the cylinder bore slug barrel. Killed deer with it but after 50yrds the old foster slugs were just to inaccurate. And the longer 28" barrel made it a little unwieldy in the the Turkey woods.

I own both, a 500 field combo with 2 barrels and a SXP Trap. They are both good, inexpensive shotguns that go boom every time you squeeze the trigger. My preference is for the SXP as it fits me better and feels less cheap. The 500 rattles. A LOT.
