Mossberg 500a barrels

My dad has a mossberg 500a it has a full choke goose barrel on it. I'm wondering if the 500 barrels are compatible with his 500a? I can't see why not... also where might one find barrels?

They should fit. I've interchanged plenty on my "AB", so I don't see why an "A" would be different.

For new, check the sponsors up top. If you're okay with used, they're always some on the EE.

For Mossbergs, the main concern is the length of the magazine tube.

I have a 500a that I've had for years. Old military/police style wood stock, 18.5" Cylinder barrel. I ended up buying a 28" Maverick 88 barrel with choke tubes, and it fits better than the original barrel Make sure, as it's been said, that the mag tube is the right length!
