before you remind me how stupid I was not to read the owner's manual, I'd like to know if I damaged my shotgun while |I dry fired with the barrel removed.
I did it 2 or 3 times and now I have nightmares. I have to wait until Saturday as the weather is bad now to go to the range.
Any way to check if gun is still ok without going on the field? :(

buy some dummy safety shells and try it.
 
it will be fine ,the hammer will hit the firing pin and the pin will ride on the spring and bounce back with no problem ,Dutch

if you are really worried about it try this ..Put the barrel on it open the action and drop a dime in the barrel or you can drop it down the muzzle if you have a mod choke anyway you want to stand the gun up with the butt on the floor with the dime resting on the bolt face with the action closed ready to fire then pull the trigger ,the dime will get one heck of a bounce he will hear it jump about 5 or more inches in the barrel ,this means you have a good firing pin ,,D

What would be the difference with the bbl on or off the firing pin is still striking nothing . You can dry fire all shotguns that are not o/u or sxs .
