I have an issue with my 590 locking up after shooting. It's very difficult to rack and eject the shell. It looks like the shell casing swells up and jams.
Has anyone else had this problem and what they did to fix it? I have tried cleaning the shotgun and different brands of shells with no luck.
I'm kind of hoping to use this as an excuse to get a new shotgun but it would be nice to figure this out.

thanks in advance

Hard to say without seeing it or pics, is the barrel screwed in tight? Nothing jamming it? Grab the barrel and receiver and make sure it is tight. Make sure the bolt goes completely into battery! How much lubricant do you use?

Had that issue - lots of lube everywhere solved it. I thought I had it lubricated, but not even close. Be generous.

I just bought a 590. Haven't shot it yet, but did notice that everything seems bone dry, so will be cleaning and lubing it well before use.

I would remove the Barrel and get a 12 gauge bore brush and wrap super fine steel thinly around the brush and polish the heck out of that chamber. and make sure you put some oil on the steel wool before polishing the chamber. and I also put a light coating of oil in the slide rails and remove the bolt and lightly coat the bolt and the inner workings of the receiver. I like G96. I hope that works for you . I have never owned a 590 but I have heard they take some time to loosen up. good luck .
