Play in around with a friend's new Mossberg 590 and noticed the follower in the tube sometimes sticks when trying to load. Noticed there was a gap between the receiver and the tube. It looks like it was not screwed in fully but the tube will not budge one way or the other. Could that be causing the problem?

My 590A1 also has one or two threads "exposed", with the look that it wasn't screwed in fully. Normal.
What do you mean by the follower sticking? It won't let you push the rounds in, or?
The 590 unscrews at the barrel end. You will see a little round metal thing with a hole in the middle. If you pry that out carefully, the spring and follower can be removed.

Isn't there a no stick follower a guy can pick up/buy for the Mossberg shot guns? [ 500s,590s ] It is said to eliminate the problem.
