Mossberg 590

did you take it back to the store got it from?? Would think comin from them thye would repalce it and deal with warrenty as it is new

I have contacted the store in which I bought it from, they tell me I have to ship it to the manufacture (based in the USA). So I called Mossberg and they tell me even if I could get it to them, they can't ship it back out of the US. So I was told to ship it to a store in Vernon, or New Brunswick where I (at my expense) have to get it inspected, then assuming it is a warranty covered problem, I have to ship it to the store where I purchased it from (purcahsed in Edmonton and I live in Vancouver)and try to get them to send it back to the manufacture for another inspection, then hopefully get it fixed or replaced. I'm thinking it's just as easy to decommission it or sell it for $ 50.00 and get a new one...
Does anyone know the legal way to dispose of a firearm, I never thought I would have to ever get rid of one of my firearms.

Although you are disappointed in your purchase and service, lets not get silly and destroy anything. If your trigger housing ( trigger guard unit) is broken a housing from a MOSSBERG 500 SHOULD drop right in place, it is not gunsmith work ( these trigger guard assemblys complete are on www.ebay.ca all the time). If you are not comfortable with this , sell the gun here while disclosing your problems and dissatisfaction and set a price you and the buyer will be happy with ( A LOT OF BUYERS ARE LOOKING FOR PARTS AS WELL AS COMPLETE WORKING GUNS). Personally I would call the company you purchased it from in EDMONTON and tell them you are not happy with the service and if they can't help you , you will be discussing it on CANADIANGUNNUTZ on the INTERNET to see what all the CANADIAN GUN BUYERS THINK OF YOUR PROBLEM. If that doesn't work let us know who the company is because I don't want to deal with them either.

Thanks Bearman for your insight, now that I have calmed down a bit, I decided to just have fixed locally rather then going through the hoops that Mossberg wants me to. A local gunsmith indicates he can get the replacement parts and put it back together and it should be better then new when he's done. Thanks to the group for your insight and info.

Darn!
For a minute there I thought I was able to offer yoiu $50.00 for a 590. :D
If you give up on it PM me and I'll be glad to take it off your hands. :D

Email Mossberg with pics and explain your situation. Get them to send you the parts you need. The gun got here somehow I'm sure they can find a way to get you the parts you need. I needed some screws for my 590 Ghost ring and they sent me some for free. Where did you buy the Gun? I hate it when people don't stand behind the things they sell.
Good luck

Forgot to add...I have had parts from Mossberg sent to me from the USA to here in Canada quite a few times with no problems what so ever. :)

To my surprise the Store changed it's tune after I had a lengthy conversation. They are now willing to take care of the issue as long as I can ship it back to the store and they will take it from there.

That's great news! :)

I couldn't figure out why the store was acting funny as in my experience Mossberg is one of the better companies to deal with.
