Mossberg 590a1 heat shield

Looking for an after market heat shield for the heavier 20 in. barrel 590A1 with ghost sights, does anyone produce such a shield ? Mossberg factory ones are not wide enough and will not fit over the barrel lugs and ghost sight. Any other options available?

Not 100% sure about the heavy barrel A1 , but fitting a factory heat shield on a 590 barrel with GRS can be done , with a little force , you just widen the front clamp a little , place a business card or some type of heavy paper over the point of the barrel that the clamp is going over to protect it , couple of smacks then slide it forward and it's on .

This is a 590, not the thicker barrelled A1, and I was able to fit a heat shield with a little extra care.

Sorry I can't answer your question but are you happy with the 590a1?

Never had a problem with mine, it's built like a tank. I chose the 18.5" model, It's lighter than the 20" version and I find it balances better.

The heat shield proved no problem for me either. The factory heat shield is pretty springy, so I think it should work with the heavier barrel, which should be the same diameter as the standard barrel where it comes out of the receiver.

Like mentioned before Aim Pro builds them. Mike that owns it, used to work in Mossberg's custom shop. He still does custom work for Mossberg. I know Mil Arm has been trying for over a year to order some with no luck. The Aim Pro heat shield is a little more HD, than the Mossberg one.
