Does anyone know of a forend flashlight mount for the 590a1? I am not going to gring the bayonet lug off to clear it.

Certainly *someone* has made a decent way to mount a light to this shotgun?

Flashlight mount for Mossberg

Try Elzetta. I bought their complete shotgun illumination kit for my 870 (they also produce a kit for the 590A1) and I have been very happy with it. First class customer service as well.http://www.elzetta.com/zsmFAQ.htm

If you have deep pockets, there's always Surefire.

My solution was a bit simplier and cheaper. I discoved the Tacstar mount that would hold the flashlight in the sidesaddle . . . end of problem.

I don't think surefire makes a unit for the 590a1 with the bayonet lug.

Otherwise that's perfect. I'm going to check out the other options!

Thanks for replys.

The bayonet lug is located on the forward edge of the barrel ring, so it has no impact on your choice of forend that I can tell. The Surefire attaches to a standard 7.75" forend tube, so the light equipped forend is on the gun prior to the barrel, and the light appears to have has ample clearance for the bayonet lug which extends perhaps a half inch lower than a standard barrel ring would. If the Surefire has a disadvantage, it is that it prohibits the use of a sling attachment on to the rear of the bayonet lug. Perhaps you should fire off a an email to them to ensure that their system will work with your 590, but they do list the 590 in their product guide on line.

If you are looking for quality and not plastic, but still somthing simple, the CDM Gear light mounts and barrel clamps are the way to go

Badboy, I was thinking CDM as well but it says on your web page that it's not compatible with the 590A1.....Why's that?

Bought the elzetta shotgun illumination kit.

Awesome quality.

If you haven't considered this an option, I suggest looking. The light is beefy and super bright. The clamp is solid in construction and does not interfere with the bayonet lug. It's also made in the USA - and I'd rather that than send my money to china!

Very happy with it.
