hello,i just got a use mossberg model 590m,great shotgun but it came with a magpul forend and i am not crazy about the magpul forend, i have a mossberg original forend i tried to exchange them but the original will not fit i cant put the screw inside,there is no room to bring the screw so it will screw in the mag tube,thanks.
 
There are two different length forends. If the Magpul one fits, you need the long one. You should be able to find one with a want ad, seeing as people replace them all the time with Hogue, Magpul, ATI, Knoxx, AIM Sports, FAB Defense , Ergo, etc. The short one is around 6.25" overall, with the inner lugs measuring 5.8125". You need the 7.5" overall standard length, which has 6.9375" inner lugs. Note that Shockwaves use the small one and it won't fit. Maverick 88 also will not work.
