Hey fellow gunners,I'm wondering if anybody knows anything about the Mossberg 702 plinkster.

To me it looks like a carbon copy of the Marlin 70/795 guns.

Can anybody confirm? And if it is would the old Marlin mags work in it?

Definitely not a marlin 795, the marlin has much better features (mainly a proper last shot bolt hold open, the 702 uses the mag follower to catch the bolt)
I've owned a 795, and 2, 702 plinkster and both have treated me very well

Our LGS had them on for $129 on black Friday. I went to take a look...no thanks. Very flimsy/cheap and just didn't signal "reliable"! Nothing whatsoever like my also-polymer GSGs, which drama boy prohibited, sadly.

Can't go wrong with the Marlins.
Let's hope at the end of the month all the nonsense gets trashed. Thanks for the info.

I have one, and it's reliable and I guess decently accurate. I won it from a prize table at a match, and definitely wouldn't pay for one. It feels and looks very cheap, but I'm not a fan of plastic stocks in general.
