I know this has been posted before but im still not sure of the answer...are the 25 rd magazines still legal? Ive seen the email from the rcmp lab tech saying no, and ive seen people citing the firearm act and saying the mags made before this duck dynasty ugly gun are still good....i havent had my mossberg out to the range this year but my girlfriend wants to try shooting for the first time so id like to bring it...if anyone knows for sure or if they can point me to some actual documentation id really appreciate it
thanks

I think really it is another one of those grey lines. At the same time if it is an RCMP ruling it is law (which is absolute BS by the way).

I would love to get my hands on some 25 rounders.

It seams like its all up in the air still.
There has been no official word and there has been no word about any one having their magazines taken.
People are saying that some Canadian stores are still selling the 25rnd mag as well.
There was someone that poster here on CGN that they wrote to a RCMP firearms inspector and received a written response that they posted.
The inspector said that the mags for the 715t were illegal but then went on to incorrectly say that the 702 mags were interchangeable with the 715t and illegal as well.

Ad far as I know the 715t ans 702 mags are interchangable.

Mossberg's answer to this is no. Probably why they didn't decided they were also prohibited now.

From what I can gather, the metal portion on the 715T magazines is longer. A 715T magazine fits in a 702, but has a ~1" gap between the plastic and the mag well. You might be able to modify the 715T magwell, but it'd be pretty ugly considering how much you'd need to remove.

I recently traded my rifle and mags, but included my original receipt, because it offers an excellent challenge to any ruling. My receipt list the magazines, and predates any pistol design. Thus they could only have been designed for a non-restricted rifle in 22lr, as the pistol did not exist, and could not have possibly been a consideration in the design. Any sober judge would have to agree, with the facts on paper.

That's one of those that depends situation. Generally, there's no limit. The area is still grey. A friend bought two 25 rounders a couple of moths ago without issue. Canadian Tire near me has the rifle with its 25rd mag right in the display case. My advice? Get them while you can. You can bet that no more are coming into Canada. If they do limit them in the future ( by something really official ), I think the 25rd mags pinned would look a lot better than the tens.

I thought there was no magazine capacity limit on .22 calibre rifles?

The problem is that Mossberg teamed up with the duck commander guys and made a .22 pistol that takes the 715t magazine. Rim fire pistols are also limited to 10rounds. Mossberg then went to their retailers and said that the 25rnd 715t mag is prohibited in Canada.

The word "interchangeable" is not in the law as far as I can tell, and the magazines were not "designed and manufactured" for the pistol. My conclusion? Legal.

Does that mean the State won't violate your right/give you a hard time, and you won't end up in jail/court? No. That is the nature of tyranny.

Therefore, exercise your Liberty, but keep it on the down low and avoid any "Imperial entanglements".

Boom, there is your answer.
No one has hassled me over mine yet...they are more concerned by my VZ58 when they think it's a CZ858.

All mossberg has to do is manufacture 25 round mags , and stamp on it {FOR 715 TACTICAL RIFLE ONLY } or Promag or Buthler Creep could make us 25 rounder , would sell like hot cakes
