I just won one as a door prize at the Wholesale Sports Shoot, in Selkirk. So, Mossberg's website doesn't say a whole lot about it. The search turns up a couple threads where people are recommending it. I even checked rimfire central, and didn't find anything of note. So, what can anyone tell me about this gun? What accuracy can I expect? I'm probably going to top it with a Mueller APV scope. It's got a black laminate thumbhole stock, which has a tip down fore-end. What it is up with the tip down stock? Looks kind of like a pistolgrip. Do people who own this, use the grip, or just hold it like a regular rifle?

I saw the gun and it is much like the early Mossberg 152..252 and 352 series. They all had the fold down forestock which is meant to be like a forward pistol grip tommy gun style gun steadier....mine (152 Mossy) works when standing and shooting . The thumb hole is anyones guess.( savage copy???) Sure was a great time. I will be certain to shoot next year.

The only catch is, that it'll cost me. My partner Timberwolfe and I agreed to split any prizes, which means I have to buy him out. He wanted to buy me out, but I convinced him ($$$) otherwise. I'll have to try some different ammo, given the cost, I don't want to experiment too long, any recommendations?

At the cost of the ammo to feed it....I would certainly think about trading for a .22 or sale. Even the cost of .22 ammo is rising due to demand and I cannot fathom having a rifle that costs so much to feed and you cannot reload and develop loads for. Your choice but EE has always got 17 cals for sale. Is there a reason????...my $0.02 worth.
