Mossberg 835 ejection problems

Hi guys,

I have an 835 Ulti-mag 12ga that I just started hunting with this year (it's been in my fathers safe for 10y now) and about 1/2 the time it won't eject a shell after firing.
This happens in both the 24" and 28" barrels with both 3" and 3.5" shells and the shells usually require a bit of encouragement to remove. When I showed it to the gunsmith he said I was keeping it too oily (I hunt in the salt marshes of the Bay of Fundy) but even with a bone dry barrel I have the same problem. I have been using Winchester high brass shells from Crappy Tire so far.

Was it used much in the 10 years that it sat in your old man's safe, or was it pretty much unfiired when you got it?

Nope, this gun was NIB when I got it. I tore it down, gave it a clean/oil and started shooting. A friend thought it may have accumulated some serious barrel dust in storage so I have given it a dozen passes of gun cleaner and the copper brush followed by clean patches too. Still no improvement.
Someone here must have had a similar problem?????
