I was wondering if anyone would know what direction the chamfer on the gas seal goes. I am referring to the seal that goes behind the recoil spring in the barrel lug. The one on the gun I just got has fallen out when taking the gun apart. I understand it is a pain to take remove the retainer because of the spring pressure but I plan to use a threaded rod with another spring to transfer the pressure from one spring to another and then slowly release the pressure from both. Then reverse the process and transfer the pressure from one spring to the other to reinstall. Again I am looking for the correct orientation of the seal behind the spring in the barrel lug.
