Looks like the Mossberg 930 series is being discontinued, at least it isn't on their website any longer. They only show the 940 now. Anybody have any inside intel?

Yeah my thoughts as well. Just wondering.

I recall now I got my 930 new shortly after they came out for about $400. Now a walnut 940 is $1,400.

Love it for waterfowl and clays. Mine has always been very reliable, as are both my daughter's 930s. (One needed a little tweaking to feed properly, however). And a friend's gun only started acting up after about 8 years of not having the gas cylinder cleaned.

Considering a new 500 is like $500-600 these days, must have been a while ago that you got a 930 for $400?... Thats turkish gun money these days...

I've seen some pretty darn nice prices on 930s on the EE. So I'm thinking you'd recommend them given your experience?

I’d recommend a 930. They are excellent guns. Reliable and super easy to clean. I personally love the quick mag release feature. Makes me wonder why every semi auto doesn’t have this feature.

Yes I bought that one soon after they started appearing here. Definitely recommend.

The 940 is a much nicer action than the 930. While most 930s ran great with heavier loads older models get phased out. Much like the 391 berettas. Great guns but need something new to sell to gunnies

Go for the 935 model and enjoy the denser shot patterns afforded by the .775" bore barrel. I found my 835 pump gun to be magic for busting
clays out past 50 yds using cheapy Federal field & range 2 3/4" shells.
