Is there a cheaper option than this for 189.00++ if I want something with a rail:

There was one for a tiny bit less made by Aimpro (yes, I spelled that correctly) but there was an extremely limited number and they sold very quickly.

You're best bet for in stock 930 forend is the S&J one.

I've seen some examples of people drilling holes in their factory plastic forends, but it's tricky to get them straight (depending on what you want to do)

Not sure, but I think Aimpro does not ship to Canada. As for the Aluminum S & J Hardware 930 for-end, I give the fit, finish and overall quality a 10 out of 10. Exceptionally well made and IMO worth the cost. Get the S & J Hardware charging handle too unless your 930 model is already similarly equipped.

I bought the S&J one from OST. Nice machining and finish on the unit, but I have a few nits to pick with it. Firstly, the screws holding the bracket that centres the forearm on the mag tube are silver (stainless ??) which kind of look unsightly on a black unit. Also, they are not countersunk so they stick up. Not functionally of any consequence, but for a $200 rail this should not be. Secondly, the forearm was wobbly when installed with only the mag extension holding it in place. Had to shim it with a sling mount bracket which tightened everything up nicely. Saves me from having to purchase some kind of rail-mounted sling bracket, but if I didn't have the bracket lying around I would have had to fabricate something out of a washer or the like. Other than those points, I quite like the forearm. Just waiting on some XTM and ladder covers I ordered from Fabsports to complete the build.

I may go this route. It is probably much less weight too. Maybe something cheaper will come along.

Interesting. It fit my 930 Roadblocker SP like a glove (thank goodness), no play at all. With just a tad of pressure once lined up, it almost snap locks into place.
