Just at a gun shop in hamilton and one of the store workers indicated that the Mossberg 930 and 935 are the biggest POS you can buy. I was looking to buy a mossbberg 930 combo and am second guessing myself. Are there any owners that can comment on this gun.

Thanks,

Pbonura

I have a 930 Tac. and I love it, works great. Many people on here have the 930/935 They seem to not like the light loads as much tho.

I guess the gunshop workers have been told to push higher end guns because his opinion goes against the greatest majority. There are many discussions/reviews about the 930 on different forums. The majority of opinions are positive. My wife and dad both have a 930 and so far no problems and they cycle anything. The 935 is a 3 1/2" gun and says right in the manual that it is not designed for light loads although some owners say it will cycle them. When the worker was flapping his lips, did he actually say why they are both a POS? In my opinion they are very good guns for the money for their intended use which is mainly hunting guns.

I've got a 930 (with 24" rifled and 28" smooth bore barrels). For it's price it can't be beat. I've had no problems with it; I can shoot 1oz sabot slugs (2 3/4 and 3") and the cheap Can-Tire or Wal Mart bulk 2 3/4" ammo without any hiccups.

I've also tried some "reduced recoil" 2 3/4" buckshot without any problems.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend shooting 2 3/4" out of the 935, I've seen someone have cycling issues with it--once.

I've had my 930 for almost 4 years
Wood stock, have the 24" riffled, and 28" smooth barrel combo
It's my main gun, and will continue to be
1000's of rounds, no issues, easy to clean

I'd get one again, ZERO regrets

Well, there's your problem. Actually any gun shop suffers from this.

My 930 functions flawlessly now. Had to break in the gas system but now it works great.

Which store?

And did they then try to sell you a Benelli, meanwhile ignoring the fact u want a slug barrel, then not telling you how much a slug barrel was for a Benelli?

I have seen this exact #### pulled at a certain Hamilton store before.

The staff member then proceeded to tell that same customer that an SKS in a Tapco stock with a NCstar scope on a reciever mount was a "really accurate" gun!

My 930 has never let me down. Ask the dozens of geese that have been brought down by it. Ask the bear I killed with it.

Ask the clown if he has ever actually used one. I bet the answer will either be a lie or NO.

Starts with a A and ends with S on locke street. Figured this so just ordered the 930 combo from ellwood for $538 plus taxes and shipping. Pretty good deal. Cheaper than cabelas and they had them in stock. 4 in stock now 3. Thanks for the advice.

Curious to know what they wanted for it at the place in the OP?

Nice choice though.

You will enjoy it.

Just inquired about the gun and they indicated that they did not sell mossyberg 930`s anymore. To much bs according to him with returns. They did have a returned 935, but I was not interested in a 935. Looking for a combo. Ellwood had the best price and actually had them in stock . I am also a left and also own a 535 so I enjoy the tang safety. Was looking at a cz canvasback but need something for the bush. The 930 is my new hunting buddy.

I've heard something similar at one other independent smaller store (saying they were getting a lot of warranty returns for all Mossbergs) and a second ( again another small independent) store, just said that "not many people want Mossberg's anymore".

Wonder what the real story is? I love my Mossy's and had little to no problems with them--had to remove the mag spring on my 500 to unwind it from the wooden dowel, but being 30ish years old, I don't think that's a real problem. Distributor problems maybe?

It could be that other Brands are offering them rebates or incentives to sell more of their guns.. Maybe less profit on Mossberg. The reviews are excellent on the mossberg's

This gun is right near the top of my to-buy list. Besides all the positive feedback here, I have done extensive research in other forums and do not recall anything negative except the occasional issue cycling light loads.

I really had a boner for a mossberg 930 and then I went and handled one in the gun store. Felt so cheap it turned me off in less than 20 seconds.

I recently bought one and agree with you. In fact I was telling my fiancé that last night. However the price is right where a scratch and knick won't upset me so the fact it feels cheap is fine.

Well , do you think a $500.00 gun is going to have the same feel as a $1300.00 gun? If so, then we are really getting screwed on $1300.00 guns. Who really cares if it has a "cheap feel" to it if it performs for that price. And cheap feel is a subjective thing.
