Good day,

I just bought this gun and fired a box of #8, 2.75 inch, cheep field shells and it does not cycle them (they do cycle nice manually).

Can anybody suggest the cheepest rounds and at what number shot that will make it cycle?

I'm 99.9% sure there in no porblem with the 2.75 inch in a gun that says, 3" and 3.5"?

I have the 28" barrel, does anybody know if a 20" rifle barrel off a 500 work? Are they interchangable?

Cheers,

its because the shells you are using have too light a load .i used to have a 930 and it didnt like to cycle Falcon rounds ( a cheap clay target load here in NZ ) you will need a heavier load .. ask at your local shop what a decent clay load is and tell him what you've been using and say it didnt cycle.
the 930 is a hunting shotgun primarily.

I have a 930
I shoot the cheap canadian tire federal rounds when i go clay shooting and it works fine

as for will a 500 barrel work.... NO
It's a gas operated gun, so you need the right barrel for that

thats rediculous ! lol.. me n a buddy paid $90here for 10 boxes of the sh!ttest ammo we could find , and it only just cycled in his extremaII , and flys fart would cycle one of those !
i had to manually cycle my fabarm that day .. got good at hitting the clays though since i only had 1 shot at a time

Is it completely clean, and the gas system put together correctly? It should cycle them . . .

As suggested by Grouse Man, suggest re-validate the cleaning/assembly and then try 1 1/8 oz target (or field) loads in # 7.5 or #8 instead of 1 oz loads if that is what you may have used previosly.

I'll do a good cleaning, and buy cheep, 1 and 1/8 # 7.5 and see what happens. A friend also suggested that removing the rubber but pad might also offer more resistence for the gun to cycle against???

Anyway, I'll try this weekend, thanks.

Removal of the recoil pad will not change anything (well, other than put on the hurts a little more as you go through numerous rounds :)) .....the 930 is a gas gun and as such does not cycle the bolt on the principals of inertia. I've observed a friend using the 930 Mossberg very effectively on clays without any jams.

You have a 935 if it says 3"& 3.5" the 930 shoots 2.75 and 3" not 3.5" and the 935 will not cycle 2.75"
