mossberg 935 vs stoeger model 2000

Looking to buy new duck gun,which of these would give me more bang for my buck.I have narrowed it down to these two,price is about the same but looking for some input on which is a better gun?
 
I have the 935 and can't speak from experience for the Stoeger. The 935 is a gas gun and is better at soaking up the recoil from those 3.5" shells than recoil based actions. I find that mine patterns very well with everything from 2.75-3.5" shells both steel and lead. Perhaps the overbored barrel helps. My 935 will cycle all loads, even the light ones. So far it has been very reliable.

The 935 is a great gun for geese an ducks ive never used a stoeger but alot of hunting sites i go on don't have to many good things to say about the stoeger.In they end its your decision good luck.
 
Go with the Mossberg 930 or 935. They are gas operated and have a softer recoil.

The Stoeger is inertia operated and light : a recipe for heavy recoil. Think of the heavy loads you will using for ducks.
 
Good choice i have a stoeger and my buddy has a mossberg 935. They both kick however my stoeger cycles 2 3/4 inch shells no problem but my buddies doesn't. It doesn't matter what choke you use with the stoeger it is gonna get seized in the barrel when you shoot steel. Everyone of my chokes got stuck in the barrel until i used the full choke and now it is in there for good. My cocking lever blew out of my gun and my buddie also has a stoeger and his busted clean off at the action. I have shot alot of shells through my gun and it has worked flawless no matter what the weather was. Shot 11 boxes of shells at skeet this summer when it was like 35 degrees out and last fall it was snowing and raining hunting ducks and i dropped it in the water and never had a problem with it at all either day.
 
I have no experience with the mossberg but I own a stoeger 2000. I've had this gun for about 3 years now and have put at least 1000 rounds though it. I'd say it has jammed approx 2 times and both were during the first 2 boxes of shells though it. The action stays surprisingly clean. I've fired hundreds of rounds though it without cleaning it and no issues. Its inertia operated and IMHO has somewhat of a weak recoil spring. This allows it to cycle very light loads with no problem. It will cycle the 3" shells and heavy loads equally well but your shoulder will feel it (I imagine the gun takes a bit of a beating as well over time since the recoil spring is so light). I've done some patterning with it and it patterns well. Its a good reliable gun for the money but I have no idea how it compares to the mossberg.
 
You must change the barrel on the 935 for slugs because it is overbored to 10 gauge. I see no reason it wouldn't make a good bear gun with the right barrel.
