I shot a mossberg 940 waterfowl pro this weekend that a buddy had.
I was pleasantly surprised. I can not seem to find any comments or reviews of
this shotgun actually being used extensively in the field. Any with experiences
I would like to hear good and bad. Please this thread is not about any other shotgun.
thanks to all in advance.

I've posted on here about this shotgun a month or two ago and zero replies.

Seems like a pretty good upgrade from the 930, 935. Just the coatings alone for the internals and for the main parts is a very good up idea. My 935 is taking a solid beating and I really envy those upgrades.

I hear you, mine has been solid too. Had issues cycling when I was shooting sitting in my kayak but it turned out it was way too dirty.

My main point was the coatings, the bleuing on mine is getting worn out and that equal to rust.

Guys,

The 940 JM Pro Waterfowl is a completely different gun from the 930

Adjustable, Self-Draining Stock is user adjustable for LOP (1.25″ range), cast, and drop at comb using incremental stock shims. New grip and slim, ergonomic forend.

Cleaner-Running Gas System. A redesigned gas system allows faster, more reliable cycling at much greater cleaning intervals – up to 1500 rounds

Bold & Functional. Oversized and contoured charging handle and bolt release provide quick manipulation; Receivers and barrels are Cerakoted for superior wet-weather protection.

Pro-Series Coatings and Finishing. A variety of specially-coated parts and extra finishing team to give these models additional corrosion protection and reliable performance.

Built for the Rigors of Waterfowling. An enlarged and beveled loading port was designed for ease of loading; features an anodized bright orange follower, and an elongated, pinch-free elevator.

Right on Target. Both models feature HIVIZ TriComp front fiber optic sights and an (Accu-Choke compatible) X-Factor ported choke tube.
