On Magpul's website it states that their MOE® M-LOK® Forend is not compatible with the 590 Shockwave. Do any of you know why? I was just going to order both for a Christmas present and am hoping that the gurus on CGN have the answer...

Thanks.

GG&G sell the magpul forend already modified for the shorter slide assembly, Wolverine carry their stuff , email them, they should be able to get it in.

The best thing about doing it yourself , you can mod the receiver end , so it fits back farther, along the lines of a bantam forend or the Ithaca beaver tail one .

I used keyhole saws to adapt and bore out a Surefire pump to my 14" Mossberg. Did both ends so the bars at the back are flush, and the front end wraps around the barrel lug.

I've been doing a little reading about putting the same fore end on my shockwave and it looks like if you use the Hogue adapter nut 05020 you can do it. It's $9.99 in the USA but I've only found it on Amazon dot ca for about $42. I don't know for sure if it will work without mods but I'd like to find it a bit cheaper in Canada. As much as I like the Magpul fore end I don't know if I want to spend around $100 just to put it on.

That won't work, there's not enough room for anything longer than the shorter slide assembly that comes with the shockwave, the barrel lug blocks the use of anything longer , thats why you need to be creative with any forend you want to use .
Besides, if it was easy to do, where's the fun in that ......

A drill and keyhole saw set is all you need to modify the Magpul or any pump to fit the shorter action tube. A sanding drum or Dremel kit is also handy to clean up the recess cuts. I've done it twice for my 14" Mossberg and a 7.5" Grizzly.

Are you sure? Hogue’s description says that’s what you use to adapt one of their fore ends to a shorter mossberg.

Sadly, yes , I'm sure, at one time and maybe they still do , some mossbergs came with the shorter slide assembly, which limited any use of aftermarket slides , so hogue brought out this adapter nut to remedy that .
But , you can not use it or a longer slide action assembly on the 14" barrel mossberg, the barrel lug stops the action from closing,

I guess, you could probably put it on , technically, but , you won't be able to shot the gun with it .lol
