I have a Mossberg 500 12ga. that I seldom use. Busy cleaning it and noticed a couple dents on the outside of the barrel. Removed the barrel and can see the marks in the inside also. These are small but could this result in the firearm being unsafe? Can it be repaired, and if so, is this an expensive procedure?

If they are really small it should not be unsafe but will deform some pellets and not help the pattern. With steel shot I might be a little concerned.

Have a good gunsmith take a look at it. Should not be a big deal to either polish out or more likely they can be hammered out with the use of a tight mandrel and careful tapping.

What`s that thing made of, tinfoil? I would imagine it would take a lot of abuse for that to happen. If the barrel is FUBAR....you can probably get a replacement new or used.
