Mossberg Frame Size

All Mossy experts: Is the frame size on a 20 gauge model 500 scaled down from a 12 bore 500 or just a 12 bore frame with a 20 gauge barrel? Any hints would be appreciated.

I have a Mossberg 500AB 12gauge with double action bars and a 500C 20gauge with single action bar. Length of frame is the same on both but the width of the 12 gauge is 1.41 in. and the width of the 20 gauge is 1.31 in. So in my case they are 2 different frames , the complete trigger system on the 20 gauge is also a different width. But the pistol grip off of a 12 gauge will fit the 20 gauge .

It was my understanding they had the same frame size. I was looking at getting the 20ga moss 500 myself
