the gun is a Mossberg 151M(c) made in 1954-58. Possibly an original weaver 4x scope and is an excellent target rifle. It is a 15 shot semi auto that loads thru the stock. I have 3 of the same model but different years and they make great gopher guns.
it appears in nice shape but is missing the rear peep sight and the complete front sight. Thus it is approx a $150-$200 gun.

Lools like you are missing all 3 sights. They would put you back about $160.00-$190.00 with todays prices on ebay if you want to put back to original. I have 3 of this model as well and they are great rifles.

For specific Mossberg parts and info you definitely want to check in with Vic and Cheryl Havlin at: http://www.havlinsales.com/

These are the folks who wrote the books on Mossberg, AND founded, and still operate, the National Mossberg Collectors Association (NMCA).

About ALL of the aftermarket parts and accessories suppliers carry most of the Mossberg goodies. The Mossberg brand has a REALLY big owner group down here. Personally, I only have a dozen Mossberg Brownies, plus a Model L (pictured below), and a Model 10. But I'm just small potatoes in that crowd.
