PLEASE REMOVE THIS AD: PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED
My buddy has an older (single action arm) Maverick 88 12 ga. No surprise then to say the single arm torn loose from the plastic forearm and a new assembly was required.
In the process of installing the new forearm, he managed to misinstall the Bolt Slide in front of the Bolt Assembly. Now everything is jammed up and we can't figure out to get get things apart. We need help. I am posting a Mossberg schematic and some photos of the parts in question that I found on the internet, to show how they should. Finally a couple of photos showing how the parts how they look all jammed up in the shotgun. Just for fun I used photoshop to colourize the parts for greater clarity. If you look at the photo looking through the ejection port you can see how the Bolt Slide is well forward of the bolt face, the raised ridge across the middle of the Bolt Slide can be seen as well as the large lug at the end. The two photos looking from below shows how little rearward travel is possible until the raised ridge on the top of the Bolt Slide makes contact with the Bolt face. We have spent a fair bit of time trying to figure out how to sort this out with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
