Well, i was curious to see how this 20" cylinder bore barrel with ghost sites would do shooting clays, :) seemed to do just fine. Less time reloading being that it holds 9, it was a blast to shoot.

I used mine for trap ( did poorly ) and for sporting clays ( seemed to do better - especially on the incoming birds ! ). Certainly got some looks and was a conversation starter.

Did you actually load 9 shells into it at a club trap field ? I don't mind what one uses in the way of a shotgun for trap skeet sporting etc, but no club / range I would frequent would allow one to load more than 1 shell on the trap field except for 2 shells shooting doubles. Nor any skeet or sporting field loading more than 2 shells at any station other than station 8 at skeet loading 1 shell.

Exactly right. If it's field shooting with a handthrower no problem. At any clays club I've been to it's a maximum of two in the gun. Stuffing it with 9 would mean having to move between trap and skeet stations with a loaded gun. Not permitted and for good reason.

no, this was just fun shooting with my launcher, didn't think it would be any good at this given the barrel but i was pleasantly surprised. this is just an fyi with those with shotguns not designed for this purpose, can still have some recreational fun with them.

I had an 18.5" on my 870 that had been threaded for chokes. I hit 19 (a personal best - yeah, I'm not very good) with a full choke in it shooting trap.

Obviously, a longer barrel is easier to use but it was fun regardless. :)

I have a factory 20" vent-rib barrel threaded for chokes on its way for my 500. I'm going to have a go with it too once it gets here. :p
