Mossberg mag swap?

If I buy a 10 shot magazine from a mossberg 342, will it fit/work in my mossberg 42?
I have a line on a 342 mag and would like a second mag

Same gun just made different years. But they use different mags. One (342) the catch is spring loaded next to the mag bracket and the other ( 42)has a snap at the bottom of the mag itself.
