Mossberg Mark III Trigger Group Problem

I recently purchased a Lakefield/Mossberg Mark III Semi-Auto.

The problem I am having is that the trigger seems to slip somehow and it doesn't release the firing pin (or the "Hammer" that makes contact with the firing pin).

I have disassembled the gun and given it a very good cleaning and oiling.

I would like to get it working but:

- is it worth fixing?

- if so, what are some recommendations?

I tore the gun apart again and I think I found the problem. There is a small, flat spring in the front of the trigger group that seems to have gotten weak and it's not pressing as hard as it should. I think I can fix it.
