Traveling back home from work and always pop into a sporting goods store when I pass through . I noticed they had Mossberg mmr hunters for $479 . I am always on a budget lol, some of my shooting buddies have AR's , wouldn't mind having one too. Is this a good way to get in the AR game or should I pass ?. Definitely not a fan of the grip and handguard . Do standard AR accessories fit on these rifles ? Any MMR owners feel free to chime in.

My buddy bought one some time ago but I've yet to see it in person. From the looks of it, it looks like your regular AR15 lower which means you can replace the grip but you will also need to pick up a trigger guard because the MNR one is built into the grip. The handguard you can replace easily. From all the reviews I've read, shooting sub-MOA with good ammo is not uncommon with this rifle.

All the reviews I've read have been good as well although I read one where they were talking about 2-2 1/2" groups. The handguard is a freefloat which should improve accuracy. It is a "real" ar and should interchange with ar parts. That is one hell of a price. Cheaper than a norinco.

I was about to buy one for $650 but spent an extra $100 on a windham. At that price I would have bought the mossberg.

Where did you see them at $479? I have no issues with mossbergs AR'S. All parts should interchange

Central Alberta dealer not a forum sponsor .

Is it reasonable price for a gunsmith to put a 14.5 barrel on down the road if i wanted to do that ? Or is this something i could do in my garage with right tools ?

You can do it with the right tools. I think sgt. Rock would like the dealers name. Lol. Not where he is located. If I hadn't of ordered the windham I would be looking for that info too!
