I was thinking of buying the Mossberg mvp 5.56 have been reading some good reviews on it. Anyone out there own one and maybe could give me their input.

Thanks,

I own one. Took it out today to sight it in. It is a very comfortable shooter. I like the ergonomics of the stock, it shoulders really well. I sighted it in and shot it a bunch at 100 yards and it was pretty accurate. It's an MOA rifle, but I am not sure if it will be a sub-moa rifle. All I know, is that it is fun as hell to shoot. One of my favorite guns now. Build quality is great. There are only a couple of gripes: tighter bolt when not locked in place; it is loose when pulled back. That being said - it is rock solid when locked in. Second - I would rather a 1-piece rail, instead of the cheap weaver 2-piece. If you get it, take the 2-piece off, clean off the oil under the rails, re-align them and then blue loctite the screws in.

I am not a fan of them. I am not going to trash talk others rifles but Mossberg hasn't had a great reputation with accuracy. They don't have any guarantees and little in the way of aftermarket accessories. So it depends on your budget and what your intended uses are. If you handload and want accuracy - look elsewhere. But for hunting with off the shelf ammo under 200 meters - it would work and likely well.

Shoulder one. I was all excited about getting one until I held it. It just didn't feel good. From the palm swell to the shoulder position.

I realize that most will fire this prone, but it just wasn't there. :s

I also want one I went to the store and got to play with one a bit and I do plan on getting it to introduce my wife daughter and brother to br shooting and think it will fit the bill as a nice range toy
im not planning on wining comps with it but im pretty shure itll do what we want it to and the ability to shoot surplus and bulk ammo will make range days a bit more affordable for people wanting to throw lots of led and move up from rimfire

Just picked one up ($549.99 best price I could find) can't wait to get some coyotes with it.
