Good morning fellow CGNers. I just purchased i very lightly used Mossberg Patriot in .243. To my knowledge, the twist rate is 1:10 so around 100gr -ish? This will be used mainly by my wife for deer at around 100m. Any ammo type you would recommend? I read patriots had some accuracy issue, how true is that?

I had one that I tried a half dozen factory ammo offerings in. They all under looked pretty sad compared to my Savage. I sold the Mossberg cheap.

SAAMI-spec is 1:10 twist, anything loaded to that spec should shoot fine. Which should cover anything you're likely to find on store shelves, so I'd start with the cheapest and work up from there.

I have a CZ 243 1:10 and a savage 243 1: 9.25.
Both seem to shoot 100g partitions great. Been good performance on a bear and deer.

1:10 twist can be borderline for stability on 100g 6mm pills. Depending on velocity and elevation.

If going with factory ammo I would try 80-90g and 90-100g options. See what it likes.
