this might be better inthe hunting sport section buty i wasnt sure. I was flipping throught the cabelas winter cataloge and came accross this rifle with a 3-9 vortex scope in .300 win mag for $549. The price is pretty damn tempting but i just dont know about Mossburg. Any one bought one of these? i had a 464 a fews years back and i had no complaints with it. i know its not on par with a nice savage but at this price its pretty tempting.

i have 1 in 270 win, shoots true and accurate. decently light even fully loaded, good enough scope for me plus the lifetime warranty on it, only thing i suggest is change the rings specially if you want to go the 300 win mag route, other than that, with the fluted bolt and barrel and a good scope for the price its pretty good..

I also own one in 30-06. Love it!
Just be careful when you buy from cabelas. Check the action screws to make sure their not stripped and check the bases and rings to make sure they are actually tight. I bought one and a screw was stripped and all the screws on the gun were loose. Couldnt zero it in and then found the issue when the scope moved back in the rings and the rings were moving cause of loose bases.
Aside from that I love the gun. Shoots nice.
I personally put a Nikon Prostaff 5 4.5-18x40 BDC and it was the best choice I made.
