Good day everyone-I've been giving this shotgun some serious consideration but not being a semi guy (in any caliber/gauge) I do wonder about this gun's ability to take a sporting barrel and if so, how difficult is it to source a vent rib/interchangeable choke option? =dual purpose could be an easy sell, recognizing that in most cases..we're better-off just getting 2 guns. lol

Other question-for those who have one or have tried one, is it the available version with no mag extension? If you've put a (faux?) mag extension on where did you source it/care to show some photos?

I've tried a 1301 and know it's probably king of the castle. :)

So, I'm getting the sense that overall, the 940 isn't getting too many people excited, or? This version or any other? Lots listed at dealers/very few for sale used=am I missing something?

Took a look back, not much chat about this SPX version here and while it looks cool (forward/plastic grip) perhaps I should go see one before deciding. To me, this gun (the SPX) in terms of cool factor/looks=beats the 1301 hands-down and I've yet to hear about any issues with it. Or any 940?

Political thing/don't chance semis? It's here, admittedly the 5 shot version=less appealing and from what I gather, a non-matching/black mag extension from S&J the only option? Factory looks parkerized/knurled

I haven’t shot the SXP version but I have shot the original 940 Pro Tactical and I absolutely loved it. My friend let me run hers at a 3Gun event and it was fantastic, I have no doubt the SXP would be a great shotgun also. I do own a 940 Pro Field that I’ve had for about a month now and it’s pretty sweet, I just haven’t had a chance to put more than a few boxes thru it but I like what I’ve seen so far 👌
