To start with please and thank you for any information.

What is the difference between the 535 and the 835 other than the price ?

( Looking at the pump actions on the Cabelas site )

Is the 835 better built ? ( ie: No plastic trigger guard ? )

I think 858 has the overbored barrel (I think ported as well) and the 535 is a 3.5 version of the 500.

Yes, the 835 is overbored with a ported barrel and excepts 3.5 inch shells. I have an 835 for waterfowl hunting and am so far very happy with it.

The 835 will pattern steel better the 535ats patterns lead way better and is great with 000 buck and slugs. Also the 535 with the rifled barrel I can shoot 1.5" groups at 150yards. Both are well built I prefer the 535
