Read a few reviews and the writers seem to like them. But;
Does any one here use Moosberg 4X4 or ATR rifles.
I am looking for a 223 for coyotes.
Any opinions/experience good or bad would be appreciated.

Never had one actually to call my own but have shot a 4x4 and it was very nice especially for the price... I was more then impressed with it... Figuring the cost to quality ratio for a hunter it would be very hard to beet!! I am hearing very good things about this new Marlin budget bolt action aswell... They say the Stevens is good for the price and i am sure functionable wise it is but i have to admit the 4x4 Mossberg has some style to go with it wich i feel the Stevens has a deffinat lack of!...

I had a ATR in .270 for a short while. It worked well for me. I compared it to a Stevens before I bought the Mossberg. The ATR has a much nicer finish to it and just felt better to me. The Stevens is available in more calibers, not sure if you can get an ATR in .223

Its a very poorly designed copy of the Savage. There was a post on another forum of a 4x4 that took out some guys teeth, not sure what happened to the rifle as far as blowing up is concerned. Its cross pin, that holds the bolt head on, broke and the lugs were not engaged when the trigger was pulled. The soldered on bolt handle has no slot to fit into either and it came back into the shooters face at a high rate of speed.

Stick with the Savage/Stevens.

well i know a guy who got his face half ripped off from a Tika T3 last year when the bolt blew up ..

I'm sure that's pretty rare as well right?

i wanna see if that is a freak of nature accident or manufacture defect / common problem for these mossberg rifles before i go on a mossberg rifles are junk kick. you know they have made guns for years and years just not consumer hunting rifles so i don't think mossberg is what id call new to the game or anything.

Get a stevens in .223, are you going on price point or accuracy. I have a stevens in .223 and it shoots as any.
