So, I just got myself a Mossberg Flex 22. Kinda a hybrid of a 702 plinkster and a 715T. It came with a 25 round magazine.

My understanding is that a 715T has a magazine limit of 10 because it's scary looking... it wears plastic stuff to give it the AR look... and comes with a 10 round magazine.

The 702 Plinkster and the Mossberg Blaze both come with 25 round magazines, but aren't scary looking (even though they are black)

This flex actually has 715 stamped right on it... and came with a 25 round magazine. The magazine that came in it IS this one at Cabelas https://www.cabelas.ca/product/38511/mossberg-702-plinkster-22lr-magazine-and-loading-cap
and the listing says it's for 702, not compatible with 715T

Americans say that they are all the same magazine. If a LEO sees mine stamped as a 715 and has a 25 round magazine... well, then what?
In case you haven't seen the flex:

It has nothing to do with the 715T being scary-looking, and everything to do with the 715P pistol that Mossberg makes. The interpretation that the RCMP used with the 10/22 mags and the charger pistol would also affect a number of AR-like .22 platforms that are also made in pistol variations. Among other things, if it was a scary-appearances thing, guns like the ISSC MK22, Anschutz RX-22, GSG-15, MP44 would all be affected instead of getting a pass

Bingo.

The only 25rd mossberg 22lr magazines that are prohib are the ones that fit in the pistol. Which specific magazines those are I couldn't say exactly.

If I was to guess, I'd say your rifle is a 715 platform that takes 702 mags. I could be wrong though.

The magazine has a different profile compared to the 715T magazine; it also looks the release is on the magazine now opposed to it being part of the stock which means they probably wouldn't interchange well.
