Hi folks

about a month ago i purchased a mossberg tactical .22. i took it apart and totally cleaned and oiled it and today, finally, put ninety rounds through it. once zeroed, it is surprisingly accurate, it's balanced well, and i like the ergonomics. it is fussy about what it eats. i put fifty rounds of super stingers through it with no problems at all. then i switched to federal brand and it jammed once, sometimes twice per magazine. what is happening is the empty shell gets pulled from the breech, but fails to eject from the rifle. then the bolt picks up the next round and the empty cartridge, jamming a partially chambered shot against the empty one. very frustrating. i then went back to the super stingers, and the problem was solved. overall i would give this rifle a thumbs up, but suggest you feed it the good stuff. from now on i will relegate the federal ammo to my cooey, which is happy regardless of what diet you put it on. cheers

My friend has the same gun, he mounted a EoTech to it. We shot CCI mini-mag's through it and it was very accurate and reliable.

Mossberg is releasing a flat-top version soon!

Two weeks ago I went to the range with nine different ammo brands.
Dynapoint grouped the best but jamed atleast once/twice a mag. American eagle worked and is way chraper than stingers. Yesterday I put another 400 rounds though it after shooting about 700 rounds the week before. No cleaning either week and I still had no jams.
I'm sooooo happy I bought this gun insted of the m&p, issc mk22 and vtr.
Saved money doing it and it's non-restricted.:)

It's a good buy because the action and barrel are essentially a Mossberg 702 plinkster. It's made by CBC (good company), and the 702's action is modeled after the Marlin 70 action, which is the grand-daddy of the current Marlin 60/795 series.

Well considering the price and how well they function they are a better buy than the New ISSC MK22 by the sound of things

i knew about the flat top version, but i wanted a more traditional look and had no intention of mounting optics. i have mounted a bipod with the help of a picatinny adapter....now if they would come out with a box mag..say 250 rounds..that would be sweet.

Just past the 4500 rd mark today , maybe cleaned it 4 times .
I'll get the odd FTF but lately their getting fewer. I expect an FTF occasonally from the 22lr anyway .
Today I had 1 FTF out of 250rds and that was using Win Dyna's out of two 25rd mags and the 10 rd mag
Feds or Win, Dynapoints are what I shoot most.
Put all kinds of accessories on it ...what a blast !
Put the order in to the local gunshop for the flat-top ...;)

Got Tactical 22 home, sprayed some G96 in the action.
Kids just finished off their 4th box of Win 555s.
Get about 1 FTE every 100 rounds. I would not say FTE but the brass seems to
bounce back into the reciever after hitting brass deflector.
Only 1 FTF so far. Ammo problem.
Seems to be getting better the more they shoot it.
16 year old will be cleaning it this week. We will see how that goes. lol

I ordered a Flat top/adj stock/25 rd mag from Cabela's last week.
They're on back order so I just have to be patient and wait for it to show up.
This is my Christmas present from my mom so if it doesn't get here for a while that's fine.
I have the greatest mom in the world. She went and applied for an FAC when I was 15 so I could get a rifle and go shooting.

My Mossy likes American eagle. $275 bucks for a case of 5000 at wholesale.
Does anyone know if I can get it cheaper?
Sorry guys I'm a cheap skate!
I've been through over 1000 already with no FTF, FTE, jams or any issues.
It doesn't group as well as dynapoint but it doesn't jam like dynapoints do!!!
I love this gun.
I just wish there were upgrads for it!
