Does anyone know for sure if or not Mossberg still uses the bakelite tits to hold everything in place in there trigger groups. I know the older 500's used to break eventually under the strain of to many magnums. I am looking at buying the 835 turky combo from Wholesale (or any CGN dealer that wants to make a comp offer) but I will have to look at something else if they have not upgraded the trigger group.

TIA

Mossberg has a plastic trigger assembly housing only. All other parts are metal. I have shot some pretty heavy magnums out of mine (Partition Gold, Magnum turkey loads and some hot reloads) and never had a problem. I even dropped it out of my treestand (20' and unloaded:eek:) and it still performs flawlessly. I've had the gun for about 13 years now. They can take some serious abuse, believe me. They are worth more than the selling price IMO and they have great customer service as well.
