Hey guys does anyone have one of these rifles? What are your thoughts, on price, accuracy. 599$ seems like a good deal with a scope, and bipod. My father in Law wants one, and wants to know the best price.
I figured id make a thread first, so he didnt waste his money.
Thoughts. :)

Tell him to save his money. For little less he could get a Stevens 200 which has far more potential, or for a bit more he could get into a Remington 700 SPS varmint or tactical.

The Mossberg is a cheap rifle made-up to look like more than it really is.

Thank you, thats kinda the impression i had when i first checked on it for him.
I will recommend a sps tactical. Cheers!

I looked at it too but dont have any expirience with them. I like my mossberg shotguns just fine. Maybe he should by one then you can give us a review of them???

I recall reading a report on one and it wasn't good. I'm sure Sniper Central or a similar forum will have some info on them.

I read they have some issues with bolt handles coming off ....

Interesting if you read that thread, nothing has come of the lawsuit and the same guy apparently blew apart 3 different ATR's all by himself.
Also another member claims he represented a gentleman who lost his eye due to an exploding bolt on a Marlin 39.

I wouldn't get the ATR because it doesn't feel like a properly built rifle: it just feels really cheap. For slightly more, you can get a Stevens or even Mossberg 4x4 which are both better rifles.

In any event, I have a friend who has a ATR night train and has shot a whole bunch of rounds down it without issue. Accuracy is good, but the scope could use some improvement.
