Mossburg 500 barrel replacement source?

Ok im looking to get another barrel for my shotgun. It is a safe queen and instead of buying a new shotgun for skeet/trap/hunting I would like to get a barrel that I can just swap out when I want this shotgun to go from home defender to trap shooter in a couple seconds. Preferably has a choke or able to put chokes on it... (will not need new barrel to shoot slugs only bird/steel shot)

The EE might be the best bet, I have an ad up looking for the opposite from you - a short cylinder barrel.

Any store that sells firearms will sell extra barrels. I bought a 28' vent rib for my 500 at Wholesale sports, but ive seen them in several places

Do they make extra/spare barrels for the 8 shot Mossberg 500?

I know they do for the 5 shot mag tube version , just never seen anything for the 8 round mag tube one

This is what im curious about ! Cant find a confirmed version online anywhere... I don't want to buy a barrel have it shipped to my door just for it not to fit.

Cabela's sells a 28" Mossberg 500 barrel for almost $200. You might have to get a shorter magazine tube to make it fit on that shotgun. They sell a Maverick 88 shotgun with a 28" barrel for about $250.

bah, another barrel is almost half the price of the gun. I may end up selling and buying a nice bird gun. I have no need for a "home defense shotgun"

Buy a 'combo' with two barrels, keep the choked, long, barrel, and sell the shotgun with its 18.5 barrel.

Yes, that may be a factor I hadn't thought of.

Yup, you can't barrel swap with that 8 shot. I have one of each Mossberg 500s, (well, one's a Lakefield 400, but it's basically a Mossberg 500). One frustrating thing with the Mossberg 500 combo is if you buy a cheapy Maverick with the 28" barrel, the barrel is threaded for Accu-Choke tubes. If you buy a Mossberg combo with the 18.5" and 28" barrel, the 28" barrel has a fixed choke.

Consider buying a Mossberg with an 18.5" barrel and a Maverick 88 with the 28" Accu-Choke. If you want, later you can try to sell the Maverick receiver on the EE for around $150.
