This recipe is both simple and simply Great. Both sweet and tangy. I can't take credit for the recipe but wanted to pass it on. Enjoy!

Put a little olive oil in a frying pan and add a small to medium onion that's chopped up.

When the onion starts to look translucent add around 2lbs of moose hamburger, brown it. You want the hamburger in small pieces, so when it's getting brown I use a potato masher to make the pieces small.

Add 3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1/2 cup kraft original barbeque sauce (or your preference)
2 tablespoons ketchup

Just let it bubble on low to medium heat for about an hour, stirring occassionally.

Cut some fresh buns in half and spoon the sloppy moose on top of them. If the buns aren't nice and fresh just put a little mayo on them, that'll take away the dryness.

I just served it with a side salad.

For desert since there's fresh pears to be had now; Pears poached in red wine and cinnamon.

Simple to make, peel, quarter and core 4 pears.
Put a cup of merlot or some other red wine in a frypan.
Add 1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
few drops of lemon juice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons cinnamon.

Bring everything to a light boil, turn down the heat so it's just not boiling. Add the pears, let them stew for an hour or two, turning occassionally. When you want to eat the desert, turn up the heat and let it boil itself down to about half of the liquid you started with.

Put the pears in dishes, spoon some sauce over them, top with either some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Nummy. This is not a real sweet desert, but it's a nice one. (you single guys take note, it's easy and good for impressing your date, I learned how to make this about 40 yrs ago and it served me well. ;) )
