Mossy 500 top folder?

So i have been looking all over for a METAL top folding buttstock for the mossy 500/maverick and there is nothing availabe that i have found. flipped through most of the sponsors websites, checked WSS, local shops there is nothing so does anyone know who makes a METAL let me say again METAL top folder for mossbergs? I know they exist ive seen one but all i can find are plastic.....and im not interested in plastic like the ATI ones etc no thanks.

I have on both 870's and 500's and can tell you they are absolutely horrendous!

horrendous in what way? i have used one on a winchester 1300 police but not on a mossberg although i imagine it should be exactly the same, no? i didnt find it too bad.
where did u find one for your 500?

Choate makes a top folder for mossy. It just looks different than that one. Although I have to agree, they're not worth it. Crappy cheek weld, uncomfortable to shoot. Side folders are much more user friendly. I've tried tons on mossy, remmy, and winny. I've found that nothing beats the simpler, old school ones with the metal hinges etc. Butler creek, ram-lime and Choate. Definitely stay away from the Blackhawk top folder-super uncomfortable. Just my 2 cents.

HA well seeing as it's impossible to even find what i want i guess i wont be finding out first hand. I really didnt find the Winny that bad tho so i dont know. guess im gunna just get the BC sidefolder instead. kind of disappointing tho i really like the look of those top folders, the 870 LEO style.

if you cant find what you're looking for make what you do find work....I didn't want a pastic pos either so i adapted this stock to a stevens 77 I had to cut the grip in half and mold back together with jb plastic and a rod it was pretty easy. maybe Il put pics up.

I also shortened it 2 inches for a 12 inch lop, and the ejection port is on top so I had to bend it in and weld it scratched it up in the process, il repaint one day.

Choate, all steel, ugly as sin, tremendous company support and they ship to Canada.

The spring mounted butt pad is made of rubber with a steel insert.

That is the ugliest friggin thing I have ever seen!

On top of that it appears to make the gun much more bulky.

I wouldn't take that stock if it was free, let alone pay money for it!

Yes, both folded and unfolded it locks up solid. There is a lock release button on the port side of the stock that has to be pushed in to release the stock either folded or unfolded.

It is a good piece of kit, ugly as he11 though.

Except this one is a Rem 870. I don't think that top metal folder were made for mossberg.....

I love those law enforcement only metal 870 folders. I'd love an old Wingmaster with a 16" barrel and that folder for a very compact non-restricted.
